Getting ready for 2017 flower season. First stop the Newberg Camellia Festival on April 8th. Not the easiest to shoot as it's indoors and the lights are not over bright. Last year I had challenges with focusing-but i spent some time in the shop working with a bouquet-set up backdrops, playing with lighting and then I took my glasses of to look through the lens! What a difference-I could see exactly what I wanted to use as my focal point. Well. then I had to get some new glasses that didn't have separate nose pieces (which wouldn't grab my hair and wouldn't let go). I tested the new glasses out this last weekend while wandering around the valley, Red Ridge and down to McMinnville for lunch. The new glasses worked great-could push them up and pull back down with out snagging my hair, WooHoo! I was using a Nikon D3200 with a 18-300 zoom lens (Tokina) I hung a piece of cream fabric behind my bouquet. I played a lot with location of supplemental light sources. At first it was too bright so I placed a thin piece of fabric over the light to soften it. I ended up with some photos that please me and taught me so good lessons. Studio Flower Studies
